Tesla is training a new FSD model for public with massive improvements
Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, said that a new Full Self Driving (FSD) model is under testing for public users with big improvements over the current version for better performance and experience.
Musk said that the new model will get 10x more parameters than the existing model, which means the model will be able to capture more complex data patterns and utilize the full computing power that Tesla has to offer.

Tesla relies on onboard cameras to receive real-time video input and process it through the computer. The compression reduces the size of this camera input data for efficient storage and real-time processing. The company chief promised that the new model would reduce the loss of critical visual information from the main feed while performing the video compression. This information could be vital for driving decisions and will help to improve the overall FSD system.
Tesla has recently introduced Unsupervised FSD with Robotaxi in Austin, Texas, via Model Ys. This EV has no additional hardware changes except for the software version. Since then, public Tesla users have been expecting something better for their supervised FSD cars.
Last month, Musk said that public users will also get the same improvements that are available with Robotaxi.
FSD (Supervised) is a self-driving technology developed by Tesla for its vehicles. It drives through public roads using AI and neural networks. However, FSD requires a person in the driver’s seat to monitor the vehicle’s maneuvers. Unlike supervised, the Robotaxi provides a fully autonomous driving experience.
Musk mentioned that the latest FSD improvement for public users could be released by the end of September if testing goes well.
