xAI CEO compares Gemini Nano Banana with Grok Imagine

Elon Musk, Founder and CEO of xAI, has shared his opinion on the comparison between Google Gemini’s Nano Banana and Grok Imagine video generator, announcing Grok as a clear winner.

Musk reacted to a comparison posted on X between Nano Banana, Google’s native image editing tool in the Gemini app, and Imagine, Grok’s image and video editing feature. He said that Imagine does the image editing better in a certain case, as shown within the post, but a future version of this feature will be a lot better.

Nano Banana allows users to edit images with AI. All you need to do is upload an image to Gemini and explain the editing prompt. You can upload one or multiple images to combine their characteristics and create an entirely new image.

For example, you can put a human and a pet in the same picture, change the background of a room to preview new wallpaper, or take yourself anywhere in the world.

On the other hand, Imagine is an image and video editing feature with a more robust interface and fast output. Users can also choose from different results, which cannot be found on Gemini. Once satisfied, you can turn the generated image into a short AI video.
