New Tesla Model Y Performance launched with aggressive looks and fast acceleration

Tesla has launched its new Model Y Performance, bringing its top-tier model to customers with some unique design and acceleration upgrades over its siblings.

The front is optimized with sporty lips and an improved air duct area to support better aerodynamics. It comes with a performance carbon rear spoiler and a Performance badge on the rear trunk, as well as a larger diffuser. These new additions sit on top of the wide front light bar, sleek fascia, and the rear anti-reflective brake light.

This vehicle is equipped with 21-inch Aranchnid 2.0 wheels, certified with a 580km WLTP range, and supports up to 1,600 kg of trailer hitch. The large wheels make it look more grounded, generating more ground force and drag reduction essential to support improved on-road control.

In terms of performance, the new Model Y can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, the Long Range AWD in 4.8 seconds, the Long Range RWD in 5.6 seconds, and the RWD version in 5.9 seconds. Meanwhile, it offers 250km/h speed coupled with a multi-link suspension, continuously variable damping, and different driving modes.

Tesla has installed 15 speakers and 1 subwoofer to provide an entertaining sound experience. Inside, you will see a carbon fiber decor compared to the textile decor in the other three models. It has a 16-inch touch screen on the front and an 8-inch screen on the back row.

The driver’s row consists of sport seats with electric backrest adjustment. These seats support heating, ventilation, and thigh support. The new Model Y Performance offers ambient lighting, which can be adjusted from the front screen, aluminum details, and a premium textile cover.

Initially, Tesla has launched the new Model Y performance in Europe at 61,990 euros in Europe, and colors and interior will cost additional, similar to other variants. That said, the vehicle will be available rom September onwards.
