SpaceX surpasses 10000 Starlink satellites in orbit
SpaceX has officially announced that it has more than 10000 Starlink satellites, making it the largest satellite constellation operator in the world. As of February 2025, the space satellite operator had more than 6,750 satellites in orbit, which means the company has added more than 3250 satellites.

In June, SpaceX produced its 10 millionth user terminal at the Hawthorne facility. In the same month, the global Starlink subscribers increased to 6 million, with a 20% growth since February, consisting of 1.8 million users from the U.S. alone.
In the following month, SpaceX pushed new software updates to improve latency and throughput for millions of users, which improved global media download speed by 15% to 20% quarter-over-quarter.
August has brought a new milestone for the user base, hitting 7 million globally, up 17% from June, with 12,650 new customers daily joining these services. This number further climbed to 7.1 million in September, with an estimated $3.2+ billion in revenue.
This year, SpaceX has also been preparing for V3 Starlink satellites through Starship Flight Test 10 and 11 in the past few months. These next-gen satellites will add 60Tbps capacity, which is 20 times more than V2 minis.
