xAI releases animated sidebar icons for Grok web
xAI is rolling out a new improvement to the Grok web platform, bringing animated icons to the sidebar features. This upgrade is released for all Grok web users, and you will now notice animated icons every time you hover over an icon on the sidebar.
These hover animations are designed to highlight the feature selection, which is essential to a better user experience.
Grok web has a sidebar consisting of key features, including search, new conversation, voice mode, imagine, files, and history. xAI changes the available list of options with new arrivals. The sidebar supports expansion and retraction with one tap of a button for expansive interactions. The rest of the features lie inside the profile button at the bottom of the screen.

The sidebar is hidden by default in tablet mode or when you change the browser window size.
Grok is a large language model (LLM) powered AI chatbot launched by xAI. Besides text conversation, Grok offers a creative suite of features such as fast and expert modes for deep analysis of a topic, and helps users understand a subject with deep insights. The company is offering free access to Grok 4.1 and 4.1 Fast, two of its most recent AI models.
That’s not it, Grok also provides video generation capability with the Imagine feature, with a text-to-video option. xAI is also planning to release a longer version of video generation in the near future, but a specific launch date has yet to be announced.
