xAI launches Imagine AI image edit feature for X posts

xAI has launched a new feature on X that will allow users to edit an image of any X post through the Grok Imagine AI model. The feature is live for X users, and it will appear on all posts containing single or multiple images.

You can get the same feature on the mobile apps, but X web users are getting a more advanced experience thanks to an instant UI popup.

To use this feature, you need to hover over the mouse pointer on top of the post’s image/images to show the edit image/images icon, which will appear on the bottom right. This clickable icon will allow you to open the edit interface.

The edit interface will show the original image preview, followed by an edit prompt area. Enter the edit instructions and press Enter or the send button to start the editing.

Grok’s Imagine model will take a few seconds to generate and generate two edited versions and show them on the screen. You will also see an option to toggle between the original and the edited version of an image.

The feature allows you to edit the newly generated images, and you can continue to edit them images with new prompts. Once generated, you can download the image (or images), or you can share a direct link to share online. To be mentioned, this feature is highly moderated, and you can’t use NSFW prompts to edit the images.

You can select an edited picture to create a post or add this edited image to the comment section of that post. More importantly, the edit feature doesn’t change the original images; instead, it works as a base to unleash your imagination.
