Tesla releases FSD (Supervised) v14.2.2.4 update
Today, Tesla released v14.2.2.4 for a group of users, bringing new upgrades and system improvements. With this update, Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) Supervised software continues its regular update streak in early 2026.
The company focuses on small, frequent improvements to make driving safer and smoother. These releases build on version 14, which emphasizes better real-world performance in cities and complex situations.
In late December 2025, Tesla began rolling out FSD Supervised v14.2.2.2. This update upgraded the neural network vision system. It now better recognizes emergency vehicles, road obstacles, and hand signals from people. Parking options improved, with more choices for arrival spots. City driving also became smoother. Many users noted the quick progress in safety features. The updates kept coming in January 2026. Version v14.2.2.3 arrived on January 13.
Along with the latest update, the EV maker has changed how customers access advanced features. Separate Autopilot purchases ended for new vehicles in the U.S. and Canada. All new Teslas now include basic cruise control as standard.
For fuller capabilities, buyers now have to choose FSD Supervised. It is available as a $99 monthly subscription or a one-time purchase until February 14, 2026. After that date, only the subscription option remains. Free FSD transfers to new vehicles will also stop on March 31, 2026.
Tesla is also expanding public experiences with FSD. Ride-along events, where people can try the system on local roads, are now available in several European countries, including Finland and Spain.
Community feedback remains positive about the rapid updates and focus on practical improvements. Elon Musk, CEO of the company, has commented on competing self-driving efforts, expressing hope for their success.
