Tesla opens Model 3 and Model Y configurator in Morocco

Tesla has officially entered Morocco by opening its online configurator for the Model 3 and Model Y. Customers in Morocco can now visit the Tesla website to explore options, select trims, and place orders for these two electric vehicles. This step marks the beginning of direct sales in the country.

The announcement came with a promotional video shared on Tesla’s European social media account. The 52-second clip presents the Model 3 and Model Y driving through various Moroccan landscapes and city streets. It combines footage of the cars with scenes of traditional Moroccan life, including desert areas, bustling markets, and cultural landmarks.

Tesla has scheduled an official launch event for February 6, 2026, in Casablanca. The event is expected to include vehicle displays and buyer-focused sessions. By making the configurator available before the event, Tesla allows interested customers to get into the purchase process early.

The Model 3 is a compact sedan, known for its range, performance, and advanced driver-assistance features. The Model Y, a crossover built on the same platform, offers more interior space and a higher seating position while maintaining similar electric powertrain options. Both models are produced at Tesla factories in the US, China, and Germany, and will be imported to Morocco.

Morocco has been developing its electric vehicle infrastructure in recent years. Public charging stations are gradually expanding, particularly in major cities like Casablanca, Rabat, and Marrakech.

The government has also introduced incentives to encourage the adoption of cleaner vehicles. Tesla’s arrival adds a prominent electric-only brand to the local market, which previously included other manufacturers offering hybrid and electric options.
