Apple will launch iPhone Ultra 2 foldable but Air 3 isn’t confirmed: Report
Apple has reportedly approved the iPhone Ultra 2 foldable for next year, according to the tipster Digital Chat Station.
The tiptser revealed that the iPhone Ultra 2 foldable wide-foldable device has been confirmed through the supply chain. However, there is no specification information available for the time being.
Apple’s foldable device journey is yet to kick off, but its first device is expected to ship in September. The company has recently approved foldable display production through Samsung and is slated to enter limited quantity production starting next month. The device will be produced by Foxconn.
It’s expected to feature crease-less display, provided by Samsung, and the quality has passed the verification tests. However, the hinge hasn’t cleared the quality test. Therefore, the production has been slightly delayed.
Still, a supply chain analyst from Korea suggests that Apple will resolve the hinge issues and the first-gen iPhone Ultra will meet its launch in the fall alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max.
iPhone Air 3
Coming to the slim device, Apple hasn’t confirmed anything about the Air 3. The tipster said that iPhone Air 3 has not yet been molded, which means its future highly depends on Air 2’s sales success.
They also mentioned that the lineup’s future may also be on the line if Air 2 failed to impress buyers. That brought users on Weibo to ask the tipster whether the Plus model’s return is imminent. The tipster replied that it’s not gonna happen instantly, but it may be possible in the future.
