Nio completes 50 millionth battery swap

Chinese electric vehicle maker Nio has achieved a new milestone and completed the 50 millionth battery swap for users.

The company has marked this achievement only 144 days after marking 40 million battery swaps. In August, the company swapped 79,000 batteries per day. That being said, the NIO car fully charged in 1.1 seconds.

Nio’s vehicles are designed with a unique chassis that allows quick battery swap. It means that instead of spending hours charging, drivers can replace a depleted battery with a fully charged one in a matter of minutes.

The company is also developing related infrastructure to ramp up battery-swapping technology in public.
