iPhone 16 Pro to bring 4K 120fps video recording

Apple will launch iPhone 16 series on September 9 and the company will upgrade Pro models with 4K 120fps recording for high-quality videography.

iPhone 15 Pro models bring 4K video recording at 24 fps, 25 fps, 30 fps, and 60 fps. It can record 1080p videos at 25fps, 30fps and 60fps.

These iPhones offer 720HD video for 30fps. Meanwhile, Cinematic mode offers 4K HDR at 30fps. HDR video recording with Dolby Vision can be recorded at up to 4K 60fps. Furthermore, ProRes video recording can be enabled at 4K 60fps with external recording. The front camera also offered 4K at up to 60fps.

Upgrading these numbers to 120fps will ramp up the frames in video output and smooth the video playback with more details. This feature will be supported by the new 48mp ultra-wide-angle camera.

Meanwhile, the company is testing 8K video recording with iPhone 16 Pro, which will generate up to 35 megapixels of image. The new wide and ultra-wide angle will be able to produce such pixel parameters for an 8K resolution.

Furthermore, the company is bringing a new chipset for this smartphone, which could encode such resolution for the end user. However, Apple is unlikely to test this camera resolution for next year’s iPhone 17.
