Tesla denies report on searching new CEO to replace Elon Musk

Tesla has officially denied a report from WSJ that claimed that the company is searching for a new CEO to replace the current chief in charge, Elon Musk, and send him out following slowing business.
Robyn Denholm, Chairman of the board of directors at Tesla, has published the following statement via its X account.
“Earlier today, there was a media report erroneously claiming that the Tesla Board had contacted recruitment firms to initiate a CEO search at the company. This is absolutely false (and this was communicated to the media before the report was published). The CEO of Tesla is Elon Musk and the Board is highly confident in his ability to continue executing on the exciting growth plan ahead” the statement reads.
The report in the center of this discussion claimed that Tesla board members last month reached out to several executive search firms to look for Musk’s successor, citing people familiar with this discussion.
This report emerged after Tesla’s negative first quarter earning, but Robyn has come up with a different side on the company’s current condition.
“Tesla has been swimming upstream for the entirety of its existence. For me, I need to make sure the team is focused on what they need to deliver. No industry change, no world change, has ever happened to one company. We’ve welcomed and have, in fact, waited for a long time to have viable competitors because we need them to actually make that leap to sustainable energy. The fact China is going all-in on electric vehicles and sustainable energy is a good thing.” she said in the interview.
