Refreshed Tesla Model S

Tesla has launched the refreshed Model S in the US with new upgrades and design tweaks, ending the streak of the previous leaks and rumors about this premium electric vehicle.

The model has two variants: All Wheel Drive (AWD) and Plaid, priced at $84,990 and $99,990, respectively. These two have a $5,000 addition on each, as their predecessors were listed for $79,990 and $94,990, respectively.

The AWD offers optimized range at 410 miles, 0-60 miles per hour acceleration in 3.1 seconds. It can charge 205 miles of range in 15 minutes at a Supercharger. The Plaid is designed for maximum acceleration, which means it can achieve 0-60 mph in 1.99 seconds and offers 368 miles of EPA range. The Plaid version’s tri-motor is still locked at 1,020 horsepower, which was expected to gain momentum in the refresh.

What’s New?

The interior has dynamic cabin lighting with patterned illumination that appears on the dash and the door trims when you enter the vehicle. It fades into an ambient glow when the door shuts down.

The vehicle has received some tweaks on the outside for efficiency with optimized tires and some tiny improvements for better aerodynamics. You will find the exterior upgrades in the plaid, but the AWD will only offer standard design.

However, the EV maker has installed additional sound insulation and redesigned the air suspension to keep the voice more soundproof and comfortable while driving. The first row sport seats are exclusive to the plaid model, but you will find power recline, power tilt, heating, and ventilation on both models.

The vehicle has laminated glass on the cabin windows and roof, and tri-zone airwave cabin conditioning. It has a hands-free trunk opening feature on approach and a new front-facing camera that will facilitate enhanced visibility during parking or Autopilot, as well as actual Smart Summon features.
