SpaceX Dragon spacecraft with Axiom Ax-4 crew docked with International Space Station

On Thursday, at 6:31 a.m. ET, SpaceX Dragon spacecraft docked to the Harmony module’s space-facing port of the International Space Station with Axiom Ax-4 human crew after performing a series of maneuvers to approach the orbiting laboratory.

NASA Flight engineers Anne McClain and Nichole Ayers remained on duty to monitor Dragon during autonomous approach and rendezvous. After hatch opening, the Ax-4 astronauts meeting with seven Expedition 73 crewmembers, who also welcomed them onboard. These newly arrived astronauts will then be briefed about the safety protocols on the space station.

SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 rocket from Kennedy Space Center at 2:31 a.m. EDT on Wednesday, featuring a Dragon spacecraft consisting of Ax-4 Commander Peggy Whitson, Pilot Shubhanshu Shukla, and Mission Specialists Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski and Tibor Kapu.

The crew and SpaceX Dragon spacecraft will remain on the space station for the next two weeks and conduct scientific research before splashing down off the coast of California.
