SpaceX has registered a new project named Starship Park with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) under the Architectural Barriers program. The project carries the project number TABS2026012225. It was registered on February 10, 2026, and construction started on February 16, 2026, aiming to be completed on August 31, 2026.

The estimated cost reaches $13,855,154. The scope covers the new construction of a monument park with an adjacent amenities building, labeled Building 42. The total area spans 115,000 square feet. SpaceX privately funds the work on private land for private use. The location sits at 52371 TX 4, Starbase, Texas 78521, in Cameron County.

Space Starship Park

Starbase serves as SpaceX’s primary development and launch site for the Starship vehicle. The company builds and tests prototypes there to advance reusable rocket technology aimed at missions to the Moon, Mars, and beyond. The site lies along Texas State Highway 4 near Boca Chica. SpaceX is expanding facilities continuously to support production, testing, and operations. Employees and operations drive growth in the area.

Last year, Starbase was incorporated as a city in Texas, with SpaceX involved in local governance. The Starship Park project positions itself between the SpaceX headquarters office building and the employee restaurant Astropub along Highway 4.

It functions as a monument park, likely displaying retired Starship prototypes or significant hardware. Observers speculate it showcases vehicles such as Hoppy prototypes, early Starship units, or boosters. The adjacent amenities building will enhance the space for visitors or staff. For this project, SpaceX has partnered with AE7 Partners, an Austin-based design firm.

This development aligns with SpaceX’s efforts to create dedicated spaces at Starbase. It follows other employee-focused amenities in the region. The park adds a public-facing element to the private industrial site and showcase of Starship progress while supporting the workforce.
