Tesla brings xAI’s Grok to European vehicles with navigation Integration

Tesla has begun rolling out its latest software update, version 2026.2.6, introducing Grok, the advanced AI assistant, directly into vehicles across select European markets. This beta feature marks a significant step in enhancing the in-car experience, blending real-time information access with seamless navigation control.

Initially available in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, France, Portugal, and Spain, the integration allows drivers to converse naturally with Grok.

Users can choose from a range of voices and personalities, spanning from “Storyteller” for engaging narratives to “Unhinged” for more bold, unrestrained responses. Grok uses real-time data to answer queries and actively manages navigation by adding or editing destinations, acting as a personalized travel guide.

Examples highlighted in the update notes include asking Grok to find the best Thai restaurant nearby, locate a Supercharger within walking distance of a coffee shop, or plan a romantic sightseeing tour. This hands-free capability promises to make journeys more intuitive and enjoyable, turning the Tesla infotainment system into a proactive companion.

Tesla Grok Navigation Commands for European Vehicles

The feature requires Premium Connectivity or a WiFi connection for full functionality, ensuring access to Grok’s cloud-based intelligence. Importantly, Tesla emphasizes privacy: conversations remain anonymous and are not linked to the vehicle or user account.

This rollout builds on Elon Musk’s vision of interconnected AI ecosystems, bridging Tesla’s autonomous driving advancements with xAI’s focus on truth-seeking intelligence.
