Adaptive headlights feature to rollout for Tesla Model Y and others

Tesla is preparing to roll out new adaptive headlights feature for the previous generation of Tesla Model 3, Model Y, and other EVs, reveals a new report.

A document filed at the EU suggests that Tesla could enable the matrix headlights system installed in Model Y and first-generation Model 3.

Filed on January 3, 2024, the document suggests that Tesla is bringing adaptive high-beam support for Model 3/Y. Notateslaapp mentioned that a similar document was found in December last year which has a similar intent in in description.

A week ago, Tesla released an over-the-air software update for the 2024 Model 3 and it brought this feature onboard. The adaptive headlights can adjust the beams based on the traffic conditions and vehicles in the lane at night time.

Tesla Model 3 (old) and Model Y also have the Matrix LED headlights and an OTA update will be able to send the adaptive headlights to these two EVs.

FYI Tesla has not announced the feature for previous generations of cars but it might drop sooner or later.
