Volkswagen, Porsche, Audi commits NACS connectors and use Tesla Supercharger network in 2025

Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, and Scount Motors confirmed the use of the North American Charging Standard (NACS) by 2025.

NACS connectors will help these electric vehicle (EV) makers to enable Combined Charging Systems (CCS) customers to access the Tesla Supercharger network across North America.

This new change will help the customers from these companies to access over 15,000 Superchargers.

Each of these car makers will announce the launch date of models with NACS connectors in 2025 onwards.

North American Charging Standard (NACS),

Rebecca Tinucci, Senior Director of Charging at Tesla said “with the VW Group’s commitment, almost every major automotive manufacturer is onboard, rallying behind a shared vision of improving charging experiences for all EV drivers.”.

“This agreement provides customers with access to more than 15,000 additional charging points as well as the current near – 4,000 DC fast charging outlets operated by Electrify America,” said Pablo Di Si, President and CEO of Volkswagen Group of America.

Later today, Tesla shared that there was only 1 major automaker committed to the North American Charging Standard. However, in 2023, this number has now increased to 28.
