Mazda will use Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS) in BEVs

Mazda Motor today announced adopting a partnership with Tesla to use North American Charging Standard (NACS) for its Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs).

NACS is an electric vehicle (EV) charging standard connector system developed by Tesla. Since its opening for non-Tesla manufacturers, many of the EV makers have signed up partnerships with Tesla to adopt the NACS system.

Mazda will use NACS port with BEVs launching in North America starting in 2025. This will open the gates of over 15,000 Tesla superchargers to all of the adopted Mazda vehicles across North America.

Currently, the NACS by all of the major car makers including Ford Motor, BMW Group, Fisker, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai Motor Group, Jaguar Land Rover, Lucid Motors, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Polestar, Rivian, Subaru, Toyota, Volvo Cars, and Volkswagen Group.

With Mazda’s addition, Mitsubishi Motors and Stellantis are the only legacy car companies left to announce NACS adoption.
