Gilmour Space's Stage 1 with four Sirius hybrid rocket engines

Australia’s Gilmour Space Technologies has shared the latest preparations for the Eris rocket’s upcoming maiden test orbital test flight which could happen around April.

Eris is a three-stage launch vehicle and the rocket company has published some images of the first and third stages on social media site X, formerly known as Twitter on Monday.

The first stage uses four Sirus hybrid rocket engines and the third stage has a single Phoenix liquid rocket engine that takes payload to the orbit.

Last year, Australian Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese announced Eris as the first sovereign-made orbital rocket, while the first test flight is planned for no earlier than March and April. Meanwhile, Gilmour is looking for Australian Space Agency Approval.
