The Progress 87 cargo craft launches to the International Space Station from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on Feb. 14, 2024

The Progress 87 cargo craft launched from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on Wednesday, February 14. The launch window opened at 10:25 p.m. (8:25 a.m. Baikonur time on Thursday, February 15).

The mission was carried out by the Russian national space agency Roscosmos using a Soyuz rocket.

The flight carries around three tons of food, fuel, and supplies to deliver at the space station. This resupply mission reached preliminary orbit and deployed its solar arrays as well as navigational antennas to route way toward the orbital lab.

Progress craft will dock with the space station’s Zvezda service module two days after on February 17 at around 1:12 a.m. Below you can check the liftoff clip from the launch pad.
