Mercedes-Benz to bring a new EV design scheme

Mercedes-Benz is gearing up for a new range of electric vehicles (EV) with a refreshed design scheme, confirming a top-tier leadership of the car maker.

Christoph Starzynski, Vice President of Car Engineering at Mercedes-Benz told Topgar that his company is aware of the market trend and looking for a major upgrade in vehicle design.

“Looking at the design language in the Concet CLA and maybe looking a little bit more in the future, I think we can definitely see there’s going to be adoption to that”. he said.

On a further note, Christoph cleared some air on the naming of this new vehicle and why it’s not called “Concept EQ CLA”.

The Mercedes VP mentioned that the new vehicle will be called “C” and it will keep the “EQ” series for a “very strong brand for electric technology, so we will maintain it.”

Most of the Mercedes cars will see this change in names when they transition to an electric version.
