Apple is exploring OLED display panel prices for the iPhone SE 4 device which could launch by next year reports Korean media.

Apple on the other side negotiating to mark a deal that includes some portion of supplies from all three display makers. Samsung has proposed an OLED unit price of $30, BOE at $35, and Tianma at $40.

These OLED panels are likely to cost less than the ones used in the iPhone 15 series released last year. Further details about the supply chain show that OLED for iPhone SE 4 will be efficient.

How?

The OLED for the SE 4 model will be similar to the iPhone 14 which was launched in 2022. Therefore, the supplier won’t have to engage in extra investment to research and set up additional production lines. These two factors will eventually contribute to lower OLED rates.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously said that the iPhone SE 4 will equip a 6.1-inch OLED display. This is identical to the panel used in standard iPhone 14 and iPhone 13.

Samsung was a key supplier for iPhone 14 and it can use those stock to meet Apple’s demand for iPhone SE 4. This also gives an advantage to the South Korean company over its rivals in this field as it can focus more on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 series supply chains.

Procuring OLED from BOE and Tianma is also under consideration but a large share would go to Samsung as it is offering lower prices compared to the competitors.
