2024 Tesla Model Y gets massive $8,500 price cut in Australia

The Tesla Model Y sold in Australia has just received a massive price cut of up to $8,500 (5,607 U.S. dollars) and this price is now in effect on the top variant followed by similar reductions on the other two variants.

This is the biggest price cut from the company on Tesla Models sold in Australia. It also comes amid the EV maker outsold its competitor in Australia for the past month.

The 2024 Tesla Model Y rear-wheel drive (RWD) starts at $63,900 before on-road costs. It is down $1500 to make the base model more affordable than ever for Australian customers.

The Long Range version is now priced at $72,900, reduced by $5,500 before on-road additions. The performance version in the meantime has the highest cut of $8,500 taking the price down to $82,900 before on-road costs.

Updates

The 2024 Tesla Model Y is also getting a few updates with this price reduction including the new black Gemini wheel cover design for RWD and long-range versions.

Tesla has launched three new paid paint options – Stealth Grey, Quicksilver, and Ultra Red. The company also removed Midnight Silver Metallic and Red Multi-coat paint from the selection while keeping the Pearl White for free.

Tesla Model Y RWD equips a single electric motor to produce 220kW of power and 330Nm of torque. It can speed up from 0-100km/h in 6.9 seconds. The Long Range has 379kW of power and 493Nm of torque. It can achieve 0-100km/h in 5.0 seconds.

The Performance version is the most powerful among the three models with 393kW motor power and 693Nm. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds. The models deliver 455 kilometer, 533 kilometer, and 514 kilometer driving range respectively.
