Dotdash Meredith (DDM) has partnered with OpenAI to enhance ChatGPT with DDM’s digital content including recipes, health and financial information. DDM is the largest print and digital publisher in America. It has 200 million monthly users with over 40 brands including PEOPLE, Better Homes & Gardens, FOOD & WINE, Verywell, InStyle, The Spruce, Byrdie, REAL SIMPLE, Investopedia, and more.

Under this agreement, OpenAI will show content and links attributed to DDM in relevant ChatGPT replies. OpenAI will collaborate with DDM to create new AI products and features for its readers and use historical and ongoing DDM content to enhance its model’s performance.

DDM will use OpenAI’s LLM capability to enhance intent-based ad-targeting solution D/Cipher. It bridges advertisers to consumers based on the context of the content being consumed. All of this happens without using personal identifiers including cookies.

OpenAI will also use supercharge D/Cipher’s targeting technology with AI to offer precise targeting and improved ad performance.

“D/Cipher is built upon billions of first-party data signals from across our incredible brands – we understand consumer intent based on context, not personal identifiers,” said Dr. Jon Roberts, Chief Innovation Officer, Dotdash Meredith. “We can tap the power of OpenAI’s models to make D/Cipher ad targeting more granular, more nuanced, and more effective in engaging consumers. This combination will be a game changer for advertisers.”
