Artificial Intelligence (AI) company OpenAI is developing a new tool called “Media Manager” to enable content creators to manage copyright content. This new tool will enable creators and content owners to tell the company what they own and label how they want their works included or excluded from crawling into the ChatGPT model.

The AI firm is planning to expand new options and features. This Media Manager tool will require better machine learning research to identify copyrighted text, images, audio, and video from different sources to showcase and reflect creator preferences.

OpenAI is working with creators, content owners, and regulators to develop Media Manager which will be released in 2025. Over the past 30 days, it has partnered with publishers and digital content creators to improve training of its most popular language model.

OpenAI is taking this new approach to improve data collection for its ChatGPT model. The company is advancing crawlers based on the content creator’s preference.

This is also a controversial aspect of ChatGPT as online content creators, publishers and authors have blamed OpenAI for stealing their content without permission.
