Rivian R1 Refresh Quad Motor version will ship in 2025
Riviain has unveiled its second generation of Rivian R1 electric vehicles R1S and R1T Refresh and it comes with a flagship Quad Motor variant shipping in 2025.
Rivian R1 comes with dual, tri, and quad motor configurations. However, the first two motor variants are already available for order today with months-long delivery. However, the Rivian R1S and R1T Refresh with Quad Max configuration are only available for reservations and its delivery will start next year.
Customers can reserve a Rivian R1T and R1S Refresh quad motor with a $3,000 deposit. This amount is fully refundable and will book a slot in the queue for this new Rivian vehicle. However, you will have control over the order when it goes into production.
This also means that Rivian is not producing much of the quantity for quad motor R1 Refresh models. This might be related to reservations and customer interest shown in this new particular version. The quad motor of this model generates 1,025 horsepower, 0.60 mph acceleration in 2.6 seconds, and 1,198 lb-ft torque. You can reserve this vehicle from the official Rivian website starting today.
The significant change in this new version lies in its front and rear taillights. The front carries a wide LED bar with new RGB headlights for extra functionalities. For example, the addition will let you check the charging status with slight animations.
Rivian has also improved the riding experience in these new models. It now includes new air springs with recalibrated front and rear spring rates, new dampers, and a new hydraulic roll control system customized for R1S.
Furthermore, 22-inch wheel tires are introduced with these EVs improving aerodynamics with Pirelli tires for increased range. The Quad-Motor version brings a 22-inch wheel and ultra-high-performance Michelin tire.
Rivian can adjust quad motor R1S and R1T delivery based on the response it receives from customers.
