Rivian announces Connect+ subscription including Google Cast and Apple Music

Rivian has announced a new “Connect+” subscription service alongside Rivian R1S and R1T Refresh models. This unique subscription service enables customers to stream video through Google Cast and provides access to more than 3,000 apps. The service will be available for all existing Rivian models.
Last month, Rivian announced Google Cast and YouTube integration in the R1 vehicle’s display. Customers can use this capability while the EV is packed and a smartphone/tablet needs to be connected with Rivian.

You can tap on the Google Cast icon on your screen or tablet screen. Once selected, your car will appear as a casting screen. You need to tap “Rivian” on the screen to initiate casting and your app’s video will then broadcast to the car screen along with its sound. Furthermore, you will also have video controls on Rivian R1’s video screen.
That’s not it, the Connect+ also includes Apple Music integration directly into Rivian’s software platform. With that said, customers can access Apple Music’s library of more than 100 million songs and 30,000 playlists without ads.
Customers will be able to use the Premium Audio feature to listen to sound with Apple Music’s Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos. According to the information, the Rivian Connect+ subscription services will cost $14.99 per month and $149.99 annually. The service will be available later this summer.
