Rivian R1T and R1S Refresh unveiled with new headlights, increased power, drive range and more

Electric Vehicle (EV) maker Rivian R1T and R1S Refresh launched with new headlights, more power, better drive range, new interior, and other interesting specifications over the existing models.

The Rivian R1T and Rivian R1S Refresh models come with a big change in the front. Its headlights incorporated a new design to bring more functionality with a new signature style dual LED bar.

The headlights bring an adaptive drive beam system and new RGB LEDs in the horizontal light bar. Rivian R1S and R1S Refresh vehicle owners will be able to check the charge level of the secondary horizontal LED bar. It’s more like a stripped version of the Hummer EV. This new feature can also help to spot on-road hazards by working as an emergency lighting.

These new Rivian EVs come with dual-motor, tri, and quad-motor configurations. The top-of-the-line quad motor version can boast 1,025 horsepower and the R1T with that configuration can accelerate from 0-60mph in less than 2.5 seconds. Both models will have three battery size options and the top model will give more than 400 miles range.

Rivian has updated the interior of these cars compared to the previous generation. That includes the new optional Dolby Atmos with premium audio quality and keyless entry tech that can be added to your Apple Wallet or Google Pixel phones. The car has an improved ADAS system with 11 cameras and five radar systems.

These new Rivian models address a major problem in the center console. It’s the mobile placement structure, the charging area now has a separator that can hold two smartphones separately. Possibly, it can help stabilize the phone during the drive and not bump away.

The company has re-engineered the suspension system for a smoother ride. These two EVs come with new wheels, tires, and an improved computing system. Rivian has launched R1S and R1T Refresh models starting at $75,900 and $69,900 respectively. There’s no order date available at the moment.
