Apple is working on smart home camera as its next product lineup
Supply Chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has revealed that Apple is now looking into smart home camera products and working with a production plan to enter this segment.
This new product will work in sync with existing Apple devices including iPhones, iPads, and Macs. Users can tune in these devices with the camera to get feed wirelessly anywhere.
A smart camera is a surveillance camera that can share live feeds and visuals over a network. It can use a local area network (LAN) or Wi-Fi to transmit video and audio data to a parent device.
Its smart features set the device apart from traditional surveillance cameras including motion detection and facial recognition.
For now, any of these features are confirmed for the upcoming Apple smart home camera device. However, Apple could offer a better user experience to customers with its massive ecosystem and tech prowess.
Kuo said the Cupertino-based tech company is aiming for a full-blown production in 2026.
The smart home camera market is continuously increasing with 30-40 million units shipped every year. Apple plans to sell more than 10 million units with this product alone.
The new product line indicates that Apple has a vast interest in exploring new products and improving opportunities to sell more devices.
There’s no product description available at the moment and we’ll have to wait for more details on this matter.
