Starship Flight 8 booster and ship are ready with new improvements says SpaceX Founder

SpaceX Founder and CEO, Elon Musk has officially announced that Starship Flight 8 booster and ship are ready to fly amid an anomaly that occurred during Flight 7.

“Improved versions of the ship & booster already waiting for launch,” wrote Musk on X.

Starship Flight 7 lifted off from Starbase with 33 Raptor engines burning at full power and performed a successful hot staging. The booster performed a tower landing, while the second stage ascended into space with six Raptor engines.

However, the ship lost contact with the mission control as well as the signal. Soon after, it was seen coming down from space, and its debris scattered in the sky.

With this flight, SpaceX employed a brand new Starship with new upgrades to the forward flaps, avionics, propellant system, and other parts of the vehicle to improve performance and reliability. The company also planned a payload demonstration with Starlink simulators.

It is confirmed that the company lost the second stage due to Rapid Unscheduled Disassembly or RUD during ascent. However, specific details are yet to be shared on this matter.

Meanwhile, launch teams and engineers will evaluate data from this flight and make further improvements to the vehicle design for Starship Flight 8 and beyond. Musk has not anticipated any dates for the next Starship launch.
