Rivian Commercial Van goes on sale for small and large businesses

Rivian has officially announced that its electric delivery van is now available on sale for all businesses small or large, starting today.

Introduced in 2023, the Rivian electric van was exclusive to Amazon and used for package delivery as part of its net-zero carbon emission goal. Under its official contract, Amazon ordered 100,000 Rivian EDVs and rolled out the first phase of these custom EVs in the summer of 2022.

As of November 2024, Amazon has a fleet of more than 20,000 Rivian delivery vans across the US. The rest of the orders will be completed until 2030.

Aside from this exclusive partnership, Rivian is now selling this vehicle to all companies no matter the size.

Rivian Commercial Van (RCV)

The 2025 commercial Rivian van has two variants – 500 and 700.

Rivian Electric Van

RCV 500

This vehicle is 248.5 inches in length, 96.4 inches in width, and 114.7 inches in height, and the wheelbase is 157.5 inches. It offers a 6.7-inch ground clearance and 6,837 lbs curb weight.

The vehicle has a 487 cubic ft cargo area volume, a 137.3-inch length, and 2,663 lbs payload capacity.

You will see a roll-up rear door to access storage, sliding curbside doors, a traditional hinged roadside driver door, and a powered bulkhead door.

RCV 700

This vehicle is 278 inches long, 103.5 inches wide (including mirrors), 114.8 inches tall, and 187 inches of wheelbase. It has a 6.9-inch ground clearance and 7,242 lbs curb weight.

The vehicle has a 652 cubic ft cargo area volume, a 166.8-inch length, and 2258 lbs payload capacity.

Performance

The RCV 500 and 700 are equipped with single motor front wheel drive, delivering 320 horsepower and 299 lb-ft torque and 161 miles and 160 miles of EPA estimated range respectively. Both EVs bring a 100kW battery pack with a CCS Type 1 charging connector and up to 100 kW DC charging rate.

Safety

The driver seat has a 6-way adjustment and 2-way lumbar support with heating and cooling. Rivian commercial vans 500 and 700 go on sale with 3 standard airbags.

It has Driver+ hardware with driving assist features such as adaptive cruise control, blind spot warning speed limit information, lane keep assist, lane departure, and high beam assist.

Furthermore, features such as a backup warning system, surround park assist, and bird’s eye surround camera are also available.

Price
