Rivian has announced a $10,000 CAD hike on R1S and R1T electric vehicles (EVs) in Canada, this new price will go into action starting February 25 due to the upcoming tariff imposition on American products.

“We’d love for you to bring home the R1 you’ve been waiting for before this price increase takes effect,” wrote Rivian in a notification to customers.

You can order a new Rivian via the official website or speak with its sales advisors to lock your price details before this new price goes into effect.

Tesla has also increased its car prices by up to $9,000 on all of its electric vehicles (EVs) including Model 3, Model Y, Model S, and Model X. All of these vehicles will be imported from the US to Canada.

The latest price increase is a result of a tariff clash between the US and its neighbor country. After the inauguration, returning President Donald Trump announced implementing a 25% additional tariff on imports from Canada.

In response, Canada also announced 25% tariffs on $155 billion worth of U.S. imports.

Earlier this month, both sides reached an agreement to delay these tariffs on imported goods and more information about the conversation between US and Canada on tariffs is yet to be shared.
