Production
Optimus is the most ambitious future product lineup for Tesla, its CEO, Elon Musk projects it to generate $10 trillion in revenue. Still, the robot is under internal testing and the company is preparing to release it for customers starting with other companies.
This year, Tesla is planning to produce 10,000 Optimus robots, which will be employed inside its production factories to complete a test run and prepare for mass production.
The Optimus’ production version 2 will do more of these factory tasks with a release in 2026. Its manufacturing line is expected to produce 10,000 units a month. The V2 will also be sold to other companies somewhere in the second half of next year.
The top EV maker has planned to produce at least 1 million units a year, which may take a few years.
