New Tesla Model Y

Tesla has removed the old Model Y from the online configurator in China after introducing a newer version. In Early January, Tesla announced an upgraded Model Y in Asia as Launch Series, a limited edition car with new upgrades.

Among the key improvements, the front has a facelift with lightbars, and the rear side also has a lightbar with a new integrated light reflector. The vehicle’s interior has been revamped with ventilated and heated seats. The deck has ambient lights and an 8-inch screen for the passengers.

In China and other parts of the world, the company has listed the new Model Y alongside its old version.  All three variants of old model Y including Long Range RWD, AWD, and Performance were available for customers right after the new Model’s listing.

The new Model Y Launch Series is listed for customers in China in two versions – RWD and Long Range AWD priced at 263,500 yuan and 303,500 yuan respectively.

This change also reflects Tesla’s announcement about simultaneous new Model Y production at all of its factories across the globe. The company is aiming to deliver this EV starting March this year and will expand deliveries onwards.

Aside from the online configurator, customers can still buy the old Model Y via offline stores in China.
