Tesla has officially announced that its Gigafactory in Shanghai has started full-blown production for the new Model Y electric vehicle (EV), marking a reverse countdown for deliveries.

The company has shared pictures of the assembly line rollout for this vehicle as it prepares to debut among customers.

In early January, Tesla announced a new Model Y announced in China along with other Asian countries. The unveiling was followed by orders for the Launch Series, a limited edition listed in two variants AWD and RWD.

However, these two models are priced way higher than the outgoing model including free color selection, wheels, and more.

It was reported that the company received more than 100,000 orders in the first week of the initial announcement, which has grown way more up until recently.

Moreover, the orders placed early have received an estimated delivery time for late February and March onwards.
