SpaceX has officially announced Starship Flight 8 to launch as soon as Friday, February 28 but regulatory approval is still pending to make this rocket fly on the targeted date.

Update: The flight 8 is scheduled for Monday, March 3, 2025, and the FAA has granted the flight approval.

Flight 8 will launch from Starbase, Texas and the earliest launch window will open at 5:30 p.m. CT. However, the time and the date may change based on the weather conditions and the launch license.

Learning from Flight 7, the company has made several new improvements in the hardware and operational capacity of the launch vehicle to increase reliability. These efforts are primarily focused on the upper stage.

SpaceX targets the Flight 8 Starship to not only reach orbit but also complete its payload deployment demonstration, make successful reentry, and make a virtual tower landing simulation in the Indian Ocean.

In the meantime, the company will once again attempt a tower landing for the Super Heavy booster to return and catch maneuvers.
