Update – SpaceX is now targeting the Starship Flight 8 on March 6, instead of March 5 due to the ongoing diagnosis of the vehicle and resolving issues.

SpaceX has officially announced that it’s now targeting Friday, March 5 to launch the Starship Flight 8 after scrubbing the initial attempt on Monday.

The launch window will open at 5:30 p.m. CT and the integrated flight will liftoff from Starbase Texas.

The company called for a scrub due to some technical issues within the Super Heavy booster. The countdown was put on hold at T-40 seconds during the liftoff countdown.

The countdown resumed for a split second before it was put on a hold again.

Founder and CEO, Elon Musk said that the significant factor was a 20-bar shortfall in ground spin start pressure, combined with other uncertianintes, which led the team to call for a scrub and ensure safety for the launch site as well as the launch environment.

The company has offloaded the propellant from both stages to find out about the issue and prepare for the next available launch schedule.

As usual, a live stream for Starship Flight 8 will start 40 minutes prior to the liftoff on March 3.
