Tesla Model X and S

Tesla Japan has officially announced that new orders for Model S and Model X are ending by the end of this month. So, this is the last chance for new customers to customize this car.

Both vehicles are top of the line variants from the electric vehicle (EV) company. The Model S comes as a luxury sedan and the Model X is a crossover SUV.

The Model X is taller and offers more cargo space with iconic falcon wing doors. The Model S on the other hand, prioritizes speed and performance for people who like a sporty car.

These two EVs are still available on the configurator and you can build a new car until March 31, 2025. Afterwards, the company will only sell inventory models and used Model S and X for Japanese customers. The configuration page shows that these vehicles have a May-June 2025 delivery window.

The Model X and S have the following prices:

Model X

  • AWD – 14,169,000 yen
  • Plaid – 16,369,900 yen

Model S

  • AWD – 12,669,000 yen
  • Plaid – 15,669,000 yen

Eligible customers will get 520,000 yen EV subsidy on all four variants.

Tesla is ending new Model S and X orders in Japan by March 31, 2025

This will be the last opportunity for Model S and X customers in Japan to grab one of these vehicles. You can also book a test drive before placing an order.

Top Tesla officials have acknowledged that there’s an active work going on refreshed Model X and S and we’ll see a new version of these vehicles either this or next year. This might be a sign of this wide movement but it’s not officially confirmed.

The latest move may also reflect weak demand for these premium models, as Model Y and 3 are way more popular.
