SpaceX Starship Booster Catch

SpaceX has uploaded different angles of Starship Flight 8 Super Heavy booster, showing this massive rocket as it approaches the landing site for a catch.

The first video shows the engine section as it moves downward between the chopsticks. The second angle shows its entrance on the tower from the ground as smoke and dust raises from the ground. The third video captures chopsticks movement as it catches the rocket and closes in-wards.

Another video features the booster and the launch tower from a distance angle near the shores. Check the videos here.

On March 6, 2025, SpaceX launched the integrated Starship Flight 8 from Starbase, Texas. The rocket fired up with first stage’s 33 Raptor engines and achieved Max Q.

Then its engine cut off and separated from the second stage, followed by a boostback burn. During this event, the booster ignited 11 out of 13 planned engines.

At the same time, the flight director gave it a go for tower landing. On its way to the catch tower, the ship fired 12 or the 13 planned Raptor engines to slow the descent, which transitioned to 3 center Raptor engines to move the rocket inside catch tower.

Once inside the tower arms, the booster called off its active engine burn and SpaceX wrapped up Starship Flight 8 booster catch.
