SpaceX publishes statement on Starship explosion at Starbase

SpaceX has published an official statement about the Starship Flight 10’s Ship 36 explosion at Starbase Texas, confirming an anomaly at the test site.
The test ship was preparing for Flight 10 and about to conduct the next set of tests. However, a major anomaly was experienced on the test stand at around 11 p.m. CT.
However, the company has maintained the safety standards around the test zone and shared information that all personnel are safe.
“On Wednesday, June 18 at approximately 11 p.m. CT, the Starship preparing for the tenth flight test experienced a major anomaly while on a test stand at Starbase. A safety clear area around the site was maintained throughout the operation and all personnel are safe and accounted for.” wrote SpaceX in a statement published on X.
The SpaceX team is working with local authorities, including the fire department, to control the situation at the test site and the immediate surrounding area.
Footage from NSF shows that the company has filled the rocket with propellant for testing, and it caught an instant explosion, leading to a massive fire around the site.
It is being said that there are no hazards to residents in surrounding communities, and it’s highly advised for individuals not to approach the area while the safety operations are active.
We’ll have to wait for a detailed review of this Starship explosion via another official explanation.
