xAI Grok will soon get a screen-sharing feature
xAI is testing a new feature for the Grok AI chatbot, bringing a screen-sharing feature for users on the web platform, along with the voice mode.
The AI company first launched the voice support for the mobile app for iOS and then for Android devices. The feature was limited to these two device users, and the voice mode is now in the works for the grok.com users.
The Grok Voice launch for Web is linked to the screen sharing feature, allowing users to take the AI’s help in an active conversation.
The demo shared on X confirmed the new UI change that will house a waveform button to initiate the Grok voice mode. This will allow you to conduct voice conversations and switch personas to improve the user experience. The voice mode UI will include a separate control to launch the screen sharing interface.

You will be prompted with an option to share the active window or the screen based on the user’s preference. Once allowed, Grok.com will keep you informed about the active screen sharing session and provide an option to stop sharing with an instant effect.
These notifications will overlay the current conversation, so the user remains aware of the screen sharing activity.
After activation, the user can ask (via voice) or type a prompt to ask Grok about the on-screen content for a detailed explanation. However, the current information suggests that the option will have limited access to the on-screen content. Since the feature is still in development, we’re likely to further improve in the near future.
For now, the screen sharing feature is available for internal Grok testers, and will rollout to all users soon after stability checks.
