Android users are missing xAI Grok Companions
xAI has only released the Grok companions feature for the iOS platform, and seeing its popularity and clips on the social media sites, Android users are now running of impatience to test this new AI capability.
Companions are 3D animated models fused with artificial intelligence, xAI introduced these avatars with real-time language processing for voice conversations. However, these aren’t just simple avatars; they’re interactive and make subtle movements within the canvas to blend interest into each dialogue with a smooth or raging voice. People who aren’t fond of soft conversation also get a companion who swears and curses all the time to match their intensity or maybe surpass it.
The companions feature is gaining popularity for its female character named Ani, who is well-versed in her avatar and designed to allure users.

Since its release, the X platform has been filled with posts asking the Grok maker about the feature release for the world’s largest mobile operating system. People are posting memes and throwing jabs about the dual standards of treating iOS first.

However, there’s a wider meaning behind this delay. xAI is primarily developing for iOS due to its vast number of developers, and the company is still catching up with Android development due to the lack of specific developers.
Earlier today, a user called out this low attention for the Android platform, which received a reply from Elon Musk, the company’s Founder and CEO.
“We desperately need great Android developers,” Musk wrote on X.
This statement shows that the AI firm’s Android campaign isn’t proceeding in parallel with iOS. However, it doesn’t make any sense for the company not to get some Android devs that could ship new releases on time.
Currently, Grok has more than 900k reviews, 4.8-star ratings, and more than 50 million downloads on the Google Play Store. Many of these people also have access to the SuperGrok and Premium+ subscription, and their frustration with the company is purely justified given the situation.
Meanwhile, we’re still waiting for xAI’s response on the companions rollout for the Grok Android app.
