xAI chief Elon Musk said his company is aiming at 50 million in units of H100 equivalent-AI compute power online within 5 years. He also noticed that this much computing will require power efficiency and is essential to keep up with the operational costs.

The company currently has 230K GPUs operational at its Colossus Supercomputer cluster in Memphis and soon, it will add 270k GPUs to this lineup, increasing the overall numbers to 500k.

So, the goal could be completed easily within the time range without installing actual 50 million GPUs at an xAI supercomputer cluster.
