xAI is rolling out Valentine companion waitlist for Grok users

AI company xAI has released the Valentine AI companion in a beta campaign for the Grok platform, allowing users to get early access to this 3D avatar.

This AI avatar is inspired by Valentine Michael Smith from the science fiction Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert A. Heinlein. This character is a human who comes to Earth in early adulthood after being born on the planet Mars and raised by Martians.

Companions are the 3D avatars with voice interactions, which respond to user requests with interesting animations. The company first introduced Ani, a female animated character, and Rudi is a fluffy panda with a split personality.

Grok companions are available in the app settings. Here, you will find its slider, and to access Valentine, you will have to enable NSFW.

When you click on the Valentine, you will see the “Join the Waitlist,” and you will be informed right after your entry for waitlist approval is filed. You will have to wait for the company to clear the waitlist request, and you will receive a notification once the waitlist is cleared.

Notice that Valentine and other AI avatars are currently exclusive to iOS devices and may take some time to launch for Android phones.
