OpenAI brings new improvements to ChatGPT after GPT-5 release
OpenAI has announced new improvements to ChatGPT after releasing GPT-5 last week. These improvements target different interfaces and experiences on the web and mobile platforms.
Among these is the new response mode selection. You can now choose between Auto, Fast, and Thinking for GPT-5. The company mentioned that the majority of the users want to use Auto, but these additional modes could also be helpful in some scenarios.
GPT-5 users now have a rate limit of 3,000 messages per week, and then extra capacity on GPT-5 Thinking mini after that limit. The new model has a context limit of 195k tokens, and limits will update based on the usage and over time of development.
OpenAI has brought back GPT-4o in the model selector for paid users by default. The AI company confirmed that its deprecation won’t come into effect without prior notice.
Paid users also have a new Show additional models toggle inside ChatGPT web settings. It has added 03, 4.1, and GPT-5 Thinking mini. On the other hand, the 4.5 model is now limited to Pro users due to its heavy GPU capacity allocation.
CEO Sam Altman said the OpenAI team is working on a new update on GPT-5’s “personality”, aiming at better replies and making it better than GPT-4o.
