xAI Grok Experiencing Heavy Load: Imagine, Companions and Chat down

Grok has been facing a massive service outage, and it’s facing heavy load, while the text conversations, companions, and video generation are down.

Update: All services are restored and working well.

This service outage occurred an hour ago and widely affected users across mobile and web platforms. In this case, the bot is currently unable to load the home screen or conduct conversations.

“Sorry about that, something didn’t go as planned. Please try again, and if you’re still seeing this message, go ahead and restart the app,” notifies the app to users. While some of the users have been seeing the bot hang on the processing indicator.

xAI Grok is down

The AI company has published a notification across its mobile and web applications: “Grok is currently under heavy load. We are working on restoring full service as quickly as possible.”

xAI has recently revealed its video generation tool named Imagine, and it’s getting a warm reaction from users across Android and iOS devices. This feature enables you to generate short videos based on a text/voice description or turn an image into a video. This might be the reason behind the high usage load, but an official statement is yet to come.

Elon Musk, CEO of xAI, has been actively promoting Imagine on the X social media platform, and the team is actively making new improvements to the AI feature.
