Tesla has officially announced that it has begun the new Model Y Performance production at the Giga Berlin factory to complete deliveries. The electric vehicle (EV) maker unveiled this model a few days ago to European customers and has some new upgrades over the base models.

The front and rear fascia are upgraded with a sporty look, and a performance carbon spoiler is installed on the back for improved downforce and reduced drag. These combined improve the range efficiency and produce more power, while delivering greater steering control.

The wheels and tires are optimized for precision control, and the suspension is retouched for maximum driving comfort. It has adaptive damping that adjusts handling based on road conditions, and new drive modes bring better high-speed driving.

The new Model Y Performance delivers 580km of WLTP range thanks to the new high-density battery cells with increased charge capacity. It can reach 250km/h top speed and take 0-100km/h acceleration in 3.5 seconds. This EV has a quiet cabin with premium sound-damping materials and acoustic glass.

The new Model Y Performance is currently available to order in Europe at 62,000 euros, and its estimated delivery date starts in September.
