xAI seeded new features and fixes to Grok AI in early September

xAI has released early September features, improvements, and bug fixes for the Grok web platform, bringing more user-friendly upgrades. Here are the two lists of upgrades and bug fixes with some key highlights.

New Features

  • Calculator, unit conversion tools
  • Improved typeaheads
  • Improved code highlighting, performance, and styles
  • Tool calling for fast mode
  • Generate Imagine videos from chat-generated images
  • Imagine audio mute preference persistence
  • Faster video loading for generated videos
  • Textbox option for chat surveys
  • Ctrl + Shift + M to switch model mode

Feature addition, such as Imagine videos from chat-generated images, will show you a play button on top of the image results or “Image” button below the full image preview. Furthermore, you can now switch between available response modes with the above-mentioned keyboard shortcut.

Bug Fixes

  • Fix “Export to PDF” black background
  • Fix web results not showing in voice mode
  • Fix the double Finished Thinking notification
  • Fix text direction in the side panel and typeheads for RTL languages

These features and improvements are available for all Grok web users since September 5, 2025.
