SpaceX rolls out Ship 38 on test site for Starship Flight 11
SpaceX is rolling out the ship 38 on the launch pad at Starbase to conduct tests in preparation for the Starship Flight Test 11. Visuals shared by StarshipGazer show that a fully tiled upper stage has recently come out of the megabay and rolled out to the Starbase launch complex. The upper stage is likely to initiate a static fire, which will check its single and all-engine ignition as well as the propellant management.
Static fire tests are designed to test the vehicle’s engine burn in a real-launch environment without leaving the launch pad. The test stays active for a few seconds and provides important data to evaluate the engines’ health and find potential issues before the launch day.
Earlier this month, SpaceX conducted a static fire test on the Super Heavy booster for this new flight test, which was successful and sent back to the factory for launch preparations.

On August 26, 2025, Starship Flight 10 lifted off from the launch pad and cleared the ascent phase. The rocket performed a hot-staging, separating the first and the second stages.
Similar to the previous test, SpaceX didn’t attempt to catch the booster. Instead, it conducted some new experiments to achieve fuel efficiency with new boostback maneuvers.
Meanwhile, the ship reached orbit and conducted the first-ever payload deployment phase with eight Starlink simulators. The ship then completed the descent phase, enduring the high heat, and then initiated a splashdown in the Indian Ocean, gathering more data to improve the flight design for Test 11.
For now, SpaceX has not announced the Starship Flight 11 launch date.
